01 Are root canals as bad as people say?
Honestly? No. Modern root canals, done with proper anesthesia, magnification, and gentle technique, usually feel similar to having a filling placed. The relief afterwards is the part most patients notice most.
02 Are digital x rays really that much safer?
Digital x rays use up to 90% less radiation than traditional film. We only take them when they're clinically necessary, and you can see your images on screen with us in seconds.
03 What is periodontal disease, and how do I know if I have it?
Periodontal (gum) disease is a long term inflammation that affects the structures supporting your teeth. Early signs include bleeding when you brush, tender or receding gums, and persistent bad breath. We screen for it at every cleaning.
04 My jaw clicks and aches in the morning, is that TMJ?
Possibly. TMJ symptoms can include clicking, soreness, headaches, and limited opening. Grinding or clenching at night can be one cause, and a custom nightguard or therapeutic Botox may help in the right case.
05 How do dental implants actually work?
An implant is a small titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. Once integrated with your jawbone, it supports a custom crown that looks, feels, and functions like the original. Most patients are surprised by how routine the process is.
06 Is cosmetic dentistry just veneers?
Not at all. Cosmetic dentistry can be as light as professional whitening or careful bonding, or as comprehensive as a full smile design with veneers and Invisalign. We start with the most conservative option that can meet your goals.
07 Why get Botox or fillers at a dental office?
Few clinicians know your facial musculature better than your dentist. We use Botox both aesthetically and therapeutically (for TMJ), and dermal fillers to support and refine the lower face, a natural extension of smile design.
08 Whitening, Invisalign, veneers, what should I do first?
Often: alignment, then whitening, then veneers only if needed. Straight, bright, healthy teeth can sometimes make veneers unnecessary. Start with a smile design consult and we'll map the right sequence for you.
09 Do I need a nightguard?
If you wake with a sore jaw, headaches, or notice flattened tooth edges, probably yes. A custom nightguard is far thinner and more comfortable than the store bought version, and it protects every restoration in your mouth.
