Sleep Appliance

A custom sleep appliance planned around your airway.

A custom, adjustable oral appliance can hold the lower jaw in a forward position during sleep to help keep the airway more open. It may be appropriate for primary snoring or diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea when coordinated with a sleep-medicine provider.

Service Overview

A smaller device with a coordinated plan.

Oral-appliance therapy is different from NightLase. The appliance is a removable dental device worn during sleep; it does not use a laser. A custom, titratable design can be adjusted over time to balance airway support, comfort, and jaw position.

Obstructive sleep apnea is a medical condition. Diagnosis and treatment effectiveness should be coordinated with a qualified sleep-medicine provider, including follow-up testing when recommended.

Custom and adjustable

A custom titratable appliance is made from dental records and adjusted rather than purchased as a generic over-the-counter guard.

Medical diagnosis matters

A sleep physician should diagnose obstructive sleep apnea and help determine the appropriate therapy.

Follow-up protects comfort

Dental follow-up monitors fit, jaw comfort, bite changes, tooth movement, and appliance condition.

What Sleep Appliance Addresses

If any of these sound familiar...

i. Snore

Primary snoring

An oral appliance may be considered for primary snoring after obstructive sleep apnea has been appropriately evaluated.

ii. OSA

Diagnosed obstructive sleep apnea

For some adults, a sleep physician may prescribe oral-appliance therapy as an alternative or adjunct to other treatment.

iii. CPAP

Difficulty with another therapy

Patients who cannot tolerate CPAP should discuss alternatives with their sleep-medicine provider rather than stopping treatment on their own.

Comfort & Technology

Quiet visits, supported by modern tools and a calmer pace.

Your care is supported by digital planning, gentle technique, and comfort options that fit the visit.

Digital Records Accurate dental records support a fitted appliance and repeatable adjustments.
Gradual Titration Jaw position can be adjusted incrementally instead of set all at once.
Ongoing Monitoring Regular visits help identify bite, tooth, gum, or jaw-joint changes early.
01 Is a sleep appliance the same as a nightguard?
No. A sleep appliance is designed to reposition the jaw to support the airway. A nightguard is generally designed to protect teeth from clenching or grinding.
02 Can a dentist diagnose obstructive sleep apnea?
Obstructive sleep apnea is a medical diagnosis. Dentists can screen for warning signs and provide appliance therapy in coordination with a qualified sleep-medicine provider.
03 Is an oral appliance appropriate for everyone with sleep apnea?
No. The recommendation depends on the medical diagnosis, severity, anatomy, dental health, jaw function, and response to other therapies.
04 Can a sleep appliance change my bite?
Jaw discomfort, tooth movement, and bite changes are possible, which is why professional fitting and ongoing dental follow-up are important.
